We experienced a brief, but damaging, bout of thunderstorms today. Around 3ish the electricity went out and Cupcake and I entertained ourselves with games and moon sand. By the way, moon sand is very cool. Messy, but cool. After playing for a little while, we “rested” on the sofa and she wanted to watch anything “princess” on my iPad. As I was getting ready to leave, I found some of the same “princess” videos on her Mama’s iPad. When Cupcake saw this girl dressed up like a Cinderella, she clicked on it and began to watch a tutorial about applying makeup like Cinderella. The young lady on the video was so cute and Cupcake was so funny watching it! My sweet little Cupcake Girl!

Day 58 – Soups On
This was a little bit of yummilicious-ness! White Bean and Barley Soup. Took me a bit to find the barley at the store but I found out that it is very healthy, so I bought 3 boxes. I see future recipes that will include barley. Any suggestions?

Day 57 – Let’s Play Golf, Disc Golf
Cupcake, myself, The Captain and Cupcake’s sweet Daddy took a drive up to Cloudland Canyon State Park for an introduction to the world of disc golf. Cupcake’s Daddy loves, loves, loves disc golf. The Captain had only played on the Wii and I had a feeling he would love it too. As for me, well, I did play one hole. So Cupcake and I just strolled along, looked at the trees and sticks around us and took a few pictures. It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed watching the boys laugh and play. I think those sweet boys will play a few more rounds together. Thank you Zak for your patience and we had a great time!

Day 56 – Blue Sky
I find that my morning drive down to Cupcake’s house is usually very breathtaking. The sunrise is usually so colorful and on this particular morning, the sky was such a bright blue. But the clouds, the clouds were a brilliant white and full of fluff. I loved watching the reflection of the sky in my side mirror. It was awesome!

Day 55 – Here Come the Mummies!
Yes, that is the name of the group we saw tonight at Rhythm and Brews. I heard about this group a few years ago and when I saw they were going to be in town, I thought, why not? My, oh my! They were entertaining, outrageous, delightful and I will go see them again! Both The Captain and I had a blast! Check them out HERE.

Day 54 – Grilled Pimento Cheese
Spent the day with Erin Cobb for some much needed and wanted photography mentoring. We visited a cute local spot and each had Grilled Pimento Cheese sandwiches (I added bacon) and mint sweet tea. I also added some deviled eggs. All I can say is yummilicious and thanks Erin!

Day 53 – Huntsville
Off to Huntsville for a mentoring with Erin Cobb. Spent some time at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens before having dinner with Erin. The HBC was very nice and I can only imagine what it would look like in the spring and summer. There were a few blooms just sprouting and it was glorious!

Day 50 – A Birthday Party
Cupcake is having a cupcake at on of her preschool friend’s birthday parties. Her sweet Daddy took her and we met them there to pick her up for a sleepover. She had a great time!

Day 49 – Pure Joy
It was slightly warm, beautiful day. The playground was crowded. What FUN we both had! She can swing by herself a little bit now and I can still swing by myself! I love this picture of the expression on her face. Just pure joy in swinging and playing. Pure joy!

Day 48 – By the Light of the Silvery Moon
The moon this week was enticing! It was full and yellow. Even around 4 o’clock in the morning, it was bright enough to read a book. I tried to capture it when it was full and bright but the tress hindered my view. Although, I do like this one!

Day 47 – Just the Two of Us (Them)
Occasionally, Cupcake and her GrandBob have their Wednesday playdate alone. Just the two of them. Two peas in a pod, that’s for sure! Today was one of those days. He picked her up and gave her the choice of going to the park or to Guitar Center. Yes, you read that correctly. Guitar Center. She picked……drum roll please……Guitar Center. She really loves that place.
First they lunched at Abuelo’s, another favorite spot, then it was off to Guitar Center followed by Kindermusik. I gave him the little point and shoot this morning and said, “Have fun and whatever picture you take will be my picture of the day.” He took advantage of the opportunity and this was my favorite picture in the bunch. Thank you my sweet lovies!

Day 46 – A Little Visitor
Well, we had a little visitor this morning and I do mean little. Little as is tiny. Little as in smaller than a breadbox. Little as in smaller than a grapefruit. Little as in, well, just take a look and you will see how little. To find out how the entire story unfolded take a peek at my blog.
Day 45 – Reb Goes to Preschool
Cupcake’s preschool class had their Valentine party and her Aunt Reb was down from Virginia for a visit. I asked her if she wanted to go and she was delighted! Cupcake’s eyes lit up with joy when she saw her Aunt Reb. Cupcake took her all around her classroom after the party and then we were off to her favorite dining facility, Taco Mamacitas. They were so cute and we had a great day! For more party pictures check out the blog.

Day 44 – Spring is in the Air, I Mean, Windowsill
I decided a few weeks back to try and purchase fresh flowers every 10 days or so and place them in my beautiful kitchen window. The first round were some sunflowers and this round included a colorful mixed bouquet. I think I like this idea!

Day 43 – Preparation
I really love Valentine’s Day. I may not have celebrated it with as much exuberance in the past as I did this year. But for some reason, I got bit by the cupid bug and just did it up right! Cookies, crafts, homemade valentines and a sweet little Valentine party at Cupcake’s preschool. I certainly enjoyed all the preparation this year.

Day 42 – Let’s Practice
I saw a cute Valentine idea on the internet (I don’t remember where), so Cupcake Girl and I decided to give it a try. We took several pictures of her holding out her fist and this picture was second runner-up. I just love that little expression on her face!
To see the final product, click here for my blog. The sucker you see in the digital picture was replaced by a real-life sucker. My sweet husband took them to his employees and it was a big hit!

Day 31 – A Clean Desk and A Girl
A few things of note: Cupcake is “resting” on the nap-bed along with Ariel and Rapunzel, the magic wand is resting on the iPad, there is a bag of Cheetos along the far right edge of the picture, there are a set of vintage Beatles dolls on top of the tall cabinet and the two large stacks, of what appears to be papers, are actually pictures. Yes, pictures. I’m not sure how far back they go, but probably about 98% of them are of Cupcake Girl. Yep.
