Day 7 – Just a Rainbow

No. It was not just a rainbow.

Today, around 5ish, I looked out the window while at my daughter’s house. The sky really looked strange. I think I used the word wicked. It was the oddest color of silver/grey. Not really like a rain or snow sky. Just wicked.

After a few minutes, we went to Cupcake’s room and my daughter yelled to look out the window again. Upon looking out, my eyes were transfixed upon the largest, brightest, most spectacular rainbow I have ever seen. Throughout my life I have had the privilege to witness many rainbows, with the majority of them located in Hawaii. I have also witnessed a few double rainbows. But this? Oh this. It was spectacular and a full arch. I was in awe!

That rainbow looked as if we could cross the street, go around into the backyard of the neighbors and there we would find the end of that rainbow, with a bit pot of gold and little leprechaun.  I was so excited! I bounced around like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. We gazed at it from inside the house and then from outside. This was also the first rainbow for Cupcake. She said, “I’ve never seen a real rainbow.” Oh my precious Cupcake Girl.

I only had my point/shoot camera and it really doesn’t show the spectacular-ness of this God given gift, but here it is!

day_7

O, beautiful rainbow; - all woven of light!
There's not in thy tissue, one shadow of night;
Heaven surely is open when thou dost appear,
And, bending above thee, the angels draw near,
And sing, - "The rainbow! the rainbow!
The smile of God is here."
